SERVICES PROVIDED BY CHRISTOPHER J. ALEXANDER, Ph.D. & ASSOCIATES Christopher J. Alexander, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood psychological disorders, particularly in the areas of adoption, foster care, divorce, and child welfare. Dr. Alexander maintains an office in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he provides child psychotherapy, psychological testing, parent education, and clinical supervision. Dr. Alexander holds memberships in the American Psychological Association, as well as the Association for the Treatment and Training in the Attachment of Children, the American Adoption Congress, the American Bar Association, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. In addition, Dr. Alexander serves on the Board of Namaste, a treatment foster care organization with offices throughout New Mexico. Dr. Alexander is considered an expert on attachment and frequently testifies in court cases pertaining to issues of childhood bonding, abuse, termination of parental rights, neglect, abandonment, and adoption. In addition to the articles he has written on parenting and child psychology, Dr. Alexander has authored the new book, WELCOME HOME: A Guide for Adoptive, Foster, and Treatment Foster Parents (July 2004) Christopher J. Alexander, Ph.D. & Associates host conferences and workshops for mental health and legal professionals, as well as for parents and families. Christopher J. Alexander, Ph.D. & Associates is approved by the American Psychological Association, as well as several state and national credentialing boards to offer continuing education for counselors, social workers, and psychologists. Dr. Alexander also hosts professional supervision groups for persons working with children and families.
